Nightfall can happen to anyone – even me. After a few weeks into my NoFap journey I was noticing I had wet dreams. Therefore, I started to do research on how to reduce or eliminate them.

One of the main reasons for nightfall is over-thinking, such as thinking about your ex-girlfriends before bed, thinking about sex or porn or having too much on your mind (stress and anxiety). It can also be due to a combination and multitude of other factors such as diet, sleeping position and mental mindset.

WILL YOUR NIGHTFALL END THE STREAK?
No it will not – having nightfall aka wet dreams is a natural process and as a natural process it should not be counted against your NoFap journey.If you practice NoFap, it can be hard for your body to effectively expel excess semen that is build up from not regularly ejaculating even if your body is effectively re-absorbing all that sperm. Thus, your body will find ways to remove the semen and one of those ways is Nightfall.If your occurrence of Nightfall is not often then there is nothing to worry about. But if you are having constant Nightfall then it is best to consult with a health professional to see if there is a problem.


HOW TO STOP NIGHTFALL?
Use the following resources to stop or limit your Nightfall.


CLEAR YOUR MIND:
Meditation can make you be less reactive, feel less stressed, or be more focused – Researchers from John Hopkins University found general mindfulness meditation programs helped ease psychological symptoms of depression, anxiety, and pain related to stress. Thus, try some meditation since nightfall mostly happens when people are in an excited state of mind or when they are stressed and anxious. Furthermore, another study found that using a generalized form of meditation – people who meditate have lower levels of cortisol (a hormone associated with physical and emotional stress), have improved sleep quality as well as a higher tolerance for pain. 


ADJUST YOUR SLEEPING POSITION:

Sleeping on your stomach: Your sleeping position plays a big role in causing nightfall. According to Dr. Calvin Yu, sleeping on your stomach makes it more likely for you to encounter a sexual dream.


Fetal Sleeping Position: This position helps you decrease back pain and helps reduce snoring according to the National Sleep Foundation. This position also helps with wet dreams to eliminate or decrease their occurrence. 


Flat On Your Back: According to the Cleveland Clinic, sleeping on your back makes use of gravity to help keep your body aligned and helps reduce any unnecessary pressure on your back or joints as well as decrease hip and knee pain.


Sleeping On Your Side: Sleeping on your sides can be pretty good, especially if you sleep on your left side. Not only will it help decrease snoring but it is great for your digestion and might even reduce heartburn.


ADJUST YOUR DIET: Your diet is extremely important when it comes to NoFap, whether you like to admit it or not. It is found that eating dark leafy green vegetable makes you cool on the inside and helps to reduce or eliminate your wet dreams. So try to stay away from hot food at night-time if you are having problems with wet dreams.


In Conclusion: Having Nightfall is not the end of the world or your NoFap streak. It is an outlier and a natural process that should not be counted as a relapse. If is just a way for your body to get ride of excess semen when you are not transmuting all that life energy elsewhere effectively.
