During isolation – we are left with our thoughts, and just the internet. Many brothers are falling to the wayside because of the coronavirus since staying home during isolation has become the ultimate test.

It can be very hard if you are practicing NoFap and you are surrounded by things that seduce you to the fap-side.

I know it is currently hard especially with all the coronavirus craziness currently happening but we all need to be strong and in this strength we shall prosper. I also know many have relapsed due to the primary, secondary and even tertiary effects of the coronavirus pandemic. But we all need to remember why we are doing this.

With some people, as soon as they think about the internet; they just think about pornography. It is like the internet is synonymous with porn.

The world is going through some very crazy times and we are all locked into our homes with just our thoughts, cells phones and the internet. This has caused many people that I know of and talk to me for support to relapse. As I speak – it is becoming increasingly difficult for NoFappers to endure this coronavirus hardship due to various factors such as stress due to job security, anxiety due to months of isolation and as well as depression.These days, isolation and loneliness is fueling depression more than ever. We human beings are social creatures – we need love, support, the close contact of family and friends as well as interactions with other people. After months of social distancing and sheltering at home, many have become depressed, increasingly anxious and have turned to other means to cope such as troubled relationships or drugs. But even troubled relationships will fuel your depression and anxiety. When you are in a troubled or toxic relationship, it can be disastrous and even more damaging than just being alone.

People’s worries are spiraling out of control. Stress levels are soaring because of job loss and financial difficulties. More and more people are turning towards unhealthy ways of coping such as drinking, junk food, drugs, medication and porn.

Brothers (and sisters) don’t do this – it is the equivalent of one step forward with 2 steps back.

TRUST YOURSELF TO DO THIS:
You need to trust yourself. You started NoFap for a reason or many reasons. So continue doing NoFap for those reasons and continue to push forward. I know it is hard right now because it is also hard for me but I cope by always visualizing my goals, writing them down on a mirror so I can see them every time I walk by, writing them down in my notebook and even repeating them over and over like a mantra.

Just remember what to do when you are on the verge of a relapse:

  • Realize and recognize that you are about to relapse if you are on the verge of watching porn or in the process of fapping. Then think about the what you will be losing if you do continue with your actions – your gains will be erase.
  • If you keep doing the above and the urge is still there then you need to channel and transmute it into something else – such as learning a new language or a new skill. Do your favourite hobby (other than porn) or get some hobbies – just do anything that you like and want to do that will get you away from porn.
  • Next, channel and transmute all that sexual energy and desire into your new found skills and/or hobbies. If it is a language then start saying words in that language to family and friends – which can be very impressive. If it is a new hobby then keep getting better at it. If it is yoga or meditation then decompress, de-stress and relax your mind so you are free and channel that energy back into the universe.

Also, remember that one of the main reasons people relapse is watching porn and having too many distractions. Trust in yourself that you can beat a porn addiction and a masturbation habit. Trust in your friends and family to support you even in isolation. Get away from your distractions – keep offline, stay away from your porn stash and stay away from negative people. You need to be on a high vibrational plane, frequency and energy. For NoFap, it is crucial that you are very positive about the experience so that you have a way less chance of relapsing. Remember, the more negative you are then the more you will want that quick dopamine hit of porn as well as be lazy and give up on NoFap. 

You can even try music to change your mood for the better. Music therapy is known to do wonders for people who have depression according to a 2011 study published in the British Journal of Psychiatrist by Finnish researchers. Music is not only able to affect your mood but listening to particularly happy or sad music can even change the way we perceive the world. Music and mood are closely interrelated — listening to a sad or happy song on the radio can make you feel more sad or happy. Singing (or shouting) can also be a great release of tension. Furthermore, calming music before bedtime promotes peace and relaxation and helps to induce sleep. Just be sure to not listen to sad, or angry music if you are depressed or have anxiety. The negativity from those types of music will seep into your mindset and bring you down.

Also, try strengthening your mental fortitude. Learn about being stoic, cold showers, manifestation, synchronicity, the Law of Attraction as well as vibrational energy. These can all strengthen your mind and mental outlook as well as give you a different perspective of the world.
